Haunted Houses - The Gurdon Light

Gurdon Light

Why did we rate this "Confirmed"? Because multiple sources off the internet sites have experienced paranormal activity at this location & therefore warrants a rating of "Confirmed".

What's the tale? If you are ever in the city of Gurdon stop at any local gas station, store, etc. and ask for directions to the Gurdon Light. It has been featured in photography, television programs and is the paranormal phenomena accepted widely as undisputed. It is about 75 miles south of Little Rock and you have to see it to believe it (and I recommend seeing it). A railroad worker accidentally fell into the tracks and was severed through the neck by the oncoming train (this is a heavily document fact). Shortly after his death a light appeared on the tracks and it swings back and forth up and down the tracks. Locals are certain the light is either the ghost himself or the lantern he carries looking for his lost head. Whatever the bond between the man and the light one thing is certain... it exists.

What do we know as fact? There really was a man who fell onto the tracks under an oncoming train and his head was severed from his body. There is also documentation of a railroad worker being murdered on the same railroad in 1931. Whether or not the light is in relation to either of these men's deaths or another incident altogether is unknown, but the light does exist and has been the subject of debate for a very long time.

Thoughts: There's no doubt there is paranormal activity related to the light, it is unusual to see any unexplainable phenomena these days. Numerous travelers have visited and witnessed the light for themselves.
